There is something missing on the new album! And i know what: the gothic atmosphere what was on the "time of despair" album. This new one is kind of filled with ROCK! I really think that the "sadness" is kind of missing Now! im not saying that the new album sucks completely, no way. It´s f*cking great!!
Anybody feeling the same way?? |

no, i don't feel the same way ...
... it was actually the first album for me although i knew some older stuff ...
... not everything has to the same way as the stuff they did before ... they always develop and so also their sound ...
... would be boring if everything just listens the same ...
... forgot the rest i wanted to say ... |

I agree with you that the 'time of despair' album was a bit more sensitive, full of great, charming ballads like 'until the end' or 'safe in a dream'.
I love these songs and I think 'time of despair' is the best album of Entwine.
'diEversity' shows us the other side of Entwine, their hard side with more rocking songs, which are also much faster than the ones oon their albums before.
I like both styles Entwine do - maybe they make a good mix of them on their upcoming albums. _________________ ~ carry your cross and I'll carry mine ~ |

i really like dieversity, but i agree, it's pretty rock-y, whereas time of despair was really gothy. i liked that atmosphere more, personally. you're right about the emotion really seeming to come through more on those tracks. the song 'time of despair' has actually moved me to tears!
that said, dieversity is a more accessible album. there are plenty of hooks, it's really catchy, and you don't want to skip a single track. i don't know if either way is BETTER exactly, just different. i listen to both albums about the same amount. _________________ mmm...cruelty |

| I'm not really into Gothic so then I must admit that I prefer the rocky style. I also thing it fits better to Entwine.. but then that's only the way how I see them. That doesn't mean at all that I don't like ToD!! I just think that DiEversity is better seen as "the whole" because (as the name sais it allready) the diversity in it. Maybe it's less gothic but it has got more power. |

IMO Entwine are not a gothic band and have never been gothic. Sadness and "gothness" is not the same BTW my fave Entwine album is still GONE. _________________ Somebody hurts you so you're hurting me... |

I don't miss any "gothic" on the new album...
I just love it... it's got the typical Entwine sound... Just perfect...
I just looooove Mika's voice...
To be honest I think they are getting better and better... quite frightening, isn't it?? ...

i'm not a big goth music fan (like sisters of mercy and the cure and stuff), but i like goth metal and music with kind of a goth flavor. and i like dressing kind of gothy - it's better than looking like you fell into the Gap and couldn't get out! _________________ mmm...cruelty |

oh, the Gap is like the Starbucks of clothing: they exploit their workers (i.e. sweatshops), sell only pastel clothing, and charge you exorbitant prices. it's where all the "cool" kids shop. _________________ mmm...cruelty |
