I suppose you're not the only one wishing that they would play in some other countries except just Germany as well

Welcome to the board!!

Considering that you have busses during the night as well, it might sound a bit weird indeed *g*.. but then again, depends of your age and of the place where you live.

Ok... not really *weird* i think...
I mean... the distances here in Finland are sooooo soooo big...
It's something around 100 km from Lahti to Helsinki...
Although it does not really look like it when you see it on the map...
So if someone really lives pretty much in the north, he can not really go to helsinki or lahti to see a gig, just if he haven't got a problem with traveling 8 hours by bus... (and if the gig ends at about midnight, and the bus leaves around half an hour later, he would not even be in time when he has to work...
so no way...

That's what I ment by depends of the place where you live.
Maybe I'm the weird one here but 100km are not really much.. Every time I go to a gig I have to travel at least 100km (that's for example from here to the Z7 where the most bigger metal gigs are in Switzerland). But okay, I'm crazy when it's about traveling around anyway *ggggg*

I suppose that's only a matter of how much you care to see a cartain band. I mean I traveled last year from Switzerland to Holland and Belgium (about 700km) just to see Finntroll again and to spend some time with them. But then again, it depends of the band.. and of course time/money is an aspect as well.

I'm sorry to hear that .. I know how it feels.. I had a bad time with my parents when I was 17 (!) and then I missed Anathema even tho they played in the city where I lived. They just didn't want to pick me up after the gig and I didn't have the money for a taxi .. but hey, I saw the guys about 5 times after that so don't worry too much.. I'm sure you'll get another chance.

I really love Entwine... but I would never have the money or the time to travel from Austria to Lahti just to see them... (Now that I am in Lahti, I of course can go to see them... but I would never come here JUST for a concert...)
I'd love to do it actually... if I'd have enough money, I'd do it of course... but to spend hundreds of euros to see a band... well... I don't know... maybe my love for Entwine isn't big enough then...
But I still don't earn any money on my own... maybe that's why I am not able to just spend so much for ONE concert

I used to spend my pocket money on all those concerts and festivals
And i've seen a looot ... but always in Austria...

I've seen Finntroll just 2 times... and they are pretty cool and also of course really nice guys... (though they've been quite drunk when I met them)...
I'm really impressed you travelt so far for them... Laughing

Wow... must be very cruel... Confused
Well... I will miss all those nice Nightwish Gigs here...
And the HIM gigs in December Confused
Because they are all sold out... But I can not change it...
So it's something different I think...

My parents actually never made me any problems like that...
(and if there was a little problem, my brother was there)

... ich bin einfach viel zu verwöhnt...

@tezza:
don't you get pocket money?? Shocked
you can go by bus... or by train maybe...!?

But to be honest... I also don't know if I'd do this... Confused
My dad used to drive me whenever I asked for it...
Maybe you should ask him again... or maybe your mum?

Yeah, I thought that as well then. I had a boyfriend which they didn't like.. but well, he was really fucked up indeed *g*.. and I was 16/17 and he was 24, hehe.. I understand my parents nowadays tho. There were people in my class at the school who got into some serious problems with drugs and my partens ust wanted to keep me out of that.

I could travel to see some band only like 30 km. But actually there isn't any gigs near Tampere, if they're not in Tampere, so i gotta travell only like 15 km. And there isn't much gigs in here, expect summer and Tammerfest. But I've missed 2 last Tammerfest's.

I'm not ritch either.. and I'm a student as well. I just make it more spontaneous. I mean if I decide to go to a gig then as soon as I get some money (paying day or something) I put it on the side. Sure, then it gets short for the rest but I don't mind leaving out the lunch one day. Also I'm quite happy that some friends have a similar situations so we sometimes eat here and sometimes at their place.. depending of who has got money at that moment Laughing Or the same with going out. Sometimes it's them paying the beer and sometimes me. And when it gets really short then I'm working more at the bar instead of going out on a weekend..
