Why Entwine now are not so famous?
I mean a lot of bands now are famous without reason, and Entwine are allways"half-famous"
I ask that cos if the situation remains like that probably they'll never come in Italy...... and that really sux indeed.....
I have tought that with DiEversity something'd changed.....
Bha maybe with the next album....i hope..... _________________ Suicide Squadrons from Southern Europe |

good question..I really don't know why it's this way. Maybe it's because they aren't that well known in europe. I mean when I ask if someone knows them, the answer is always no. Maybe it's a good idea to release bittersweet+ videoclip in some european countries? So people have the chance to get to know the good music! I'm almost sure this will never happen..but it would be great..Because maybe I get to see them live someday then, that became a bit a dream of me.. _________________

Well it might have to do alot with the Label sometimes. Maybe they dont want to promote them outside of Finland/ Germany just yet.
The 69 Eyes were asked that an Jyrki joked that maybe the label wanted to hog them all to themselfs. Now that they have Emi/ Virgin Records they are going to be releasing their albums nearly everywhere in Europe where they werent available before, plus they are getting more coverage than before.
But in a way i want to keep Entwine like this; i hope that if they do get a new label they dont turn into another HIM thing. _________________ http://www.xanga.com/private/home.aspx

That's what I think as well. Century Media is not a bad label but sometimes it seems to me that they are not really promoting their bands a lot. I didn't really see reviews of Diversity in many magazines. Okay, I'm not reading any mag which is into Goth but that was the same when Gone came out and for that album it seemed to me there was loads of more promotion in magazines than for Diversity. I mean that's finally why I decided to try it out since in every mag they wrote how good it is was.
The tour is a different problem. Usually big acts get opening acts for then those are paying for the tour. Well not the band themselves usually but their label. Another problem is to find a band who suits. I mean you cannot send Entwine on tour with Dismember or Krisiun. You have to get a band which is not too "extreme" in any direction. Means more "mainstream-like" (and for such bands, for some reason there's not a kind of a "underground culture" where you can get on tour with just a few hundred Euro in your pocket). Then again those bands ask for nicer busses and that's only a part of the higher costs. And finally there are bands who think that they're really something special and ask some monstrous amounts of money from the opening acts which I understand the label is not ready to pay. _________________ Giving up is easy

I don't know but maybe it's better that way because when i was in Finland i liked a lot the attitude of Entwine guys on the stage and outside the stage.....a somekind of familiar and nice attitude.....
I'm don't really imagine Mika acting like the new Axl Rose that waste himself with booze, cigs, grupies and drugs. ......and became nervous everytime...... _________________ Suicide Squadrons from Southern Europe |

If I see that Entwine are only a support for such a mad band like Xandria on their German-tour I'm really annoyed.
But however, like this Entwine are still something special for me, it's ok if not everybody is into this band - I'd be really angry if I saw their video-clips on TV, everyday!
It's ok if it stays like it is, I think _________________ ~ carry your cross and I'll carry mine ~ |

That's quite a selfish way of thinking. Sure, I wouldn't like to see happening with Entwine what happened with HIM. But it would make me happy for them if some of those guys wouldn't have to get up at a daytime when for us it's still night and drive for maybe even an hour to do some jobs they don't like. Sorry, but they deserve more. _________________ Giving up is easy

would be interesting to know how ENTWINE themselves like the situation as it is now...
i actually enjoy the fact that there are not so many *groupies* hanging around after gigs... (except me... ...)
... and that they don't need 20 bodyguards if the want to buy a beer ...
but of course it could be pretty cool (for them probably...) if they'd be famous all around europe...

hmm... when i met ville valo for the first time, i also never thought he'd eeeeeever end up like this...
so you can really never know what too much success can do to you...
...but of course... i also can't imagine that Mika could ever end up like this...
well...
we will see what happens...

I don't know about other countries, but in here people know them. At least I can hear people talking about them.
Isn't Entwine Spinefarm's band? Almost all the most famous finnish bands are Spine's bands, so they promote their bands well. I still haven't seen any advert of Entwine anywhere. The only person I've seen advertising Entwine somewhere is Tuomas Holopainen, he mentiones them in every interview, if they're talking about other bands. |

i can just think about austria now...
their last gig in vienna was @ Planet Music...
bands like 69 eyes, the rasmus, cob, finntroll, sentenced and even rammstein also had gigs there already...
so i don't think entwine are *unknown*...
they are just not commercial... and that's good... _________________ ... doch ich halt den schmerz als wärs ein letzter teil von dir,

I found this (im sure it might have been posted here somewhere at one point).
But this Interview seemed a bit odd (as well as old) an sweet at the same time. I have other Interviews to Post that are quite interesting (Finnish, German, English).
ciao. |
Thanks i have allready read that interview some years ago but sincerely i didn't remember a lot _________________ Suicide Squadrons from Southern Europe |
