Amen, sister! Reality tv shows have taken over, and, well, um, well I say we FIGHT! FIGHT FOR THE FREEDOM of choice! The choice of reading a book instead! --This has been a regularly shceduled broadcasting paid for by the Winteroustimber Freedom Fighters for Literacy Advocacy Foundation. Have a Nice Day.

Ugh I hate the reality tv show phenomenon. Some of the shows they come up with make me sick. I think they crossed the line when they aired that Swan show where they take women they think are ugly and make them over into society's idea of beautiful. Disgusting.

But I do want to defend the honour of the only show I watch on tv and it's classified as a reality tv show even though I would argue that it's not.
The Amazing Race is my favourite show ever. Season 5 started 2 weeks ago and I've watched every single season. I absolutely love it. And the reason I say it's not really a reality tv show is that even though it's 'real' people with cameras in their faces all day long it's also a travel show and part game show. And it's not really vicious like some shows can be because when a team gets eliminated it's because they made a bad travel choice or they can't read a map and got lost. It's interesting seeing all the different places in the world and how the teams react to airport stress and different cultures. I can't say enough good things about this show, in my opinion it's the classiest 'reality' show on tv and the most exciting too.

EDIT: I do however agree with the above poster that reading a good book is much better than tv. So when the amazing race isn't on I too advocate that people should read instead.
